2015 December: Community Events in 11 Localities

CM Beica de Jos 1InRomanesti, 16dec2015 (144) December, a number of community events were organized in Budesti, Galbinasi, Romanesti, Traian, Cazanesti, Silindru, Dumbrava, Ineu, Huseni , Beica de Jos, and Deaj. The events aim to motivate the community to develop and to strengthen people’s trust in the community, and to support the educational development of all children through organizing events for all the members of the communities (both for the children and their parents).

In the 11 project localities, the community events organized had specific themes related to winter holidays – Christmas and Welcoming Santa Claus. At these community events were present the caregivers and the siblings of the children, the educators, the representatives of the local partners and the local staff members of the school, the schools’ principals, and the mayors. The children recited poetry, sang carols, and received presents, all these events being significant for the children involved in the project.

About Community Events

grafic2The program has the porpoise to consolidate the trust in the community and to support the educational development for all children through organizing events with all the community members. Under the program, the caregivers, with the support of the local partners, plan and organize an event for the entire community – both for children and their parents.

The event aims to strengthen the communication between the caregivers and to overcome possible intercultural barriers and tolerance-related attitudes that may be in the community, also raising awareness of the Roma community.

Your Story Start – in Mures County

grafic2

On 27 November 2015, the first Your Story sessions began in Beica de Jos and Deaj (Mures County) as part of the “Ready Set Go!” project. During the sessions, the mothes of the children included in the “Ready Set Go!” project from the 2 localities learnt how to tell to their children the story “At the Kindergarten” – a preschool children book themed on education.

Your Story Program is an empowerment program, aimed at developing the skills of the caregivers in learning how to read stories to the children and at combating functional illiteracy.
